Guyanese Birth Incentive Proposal
Dear Editor,
There were a few comments around the $100,000 budgeted to be given to Guyanese mothers upon the birth of each child. Some say it isn’t enough and others say “what about the men?” CRG suggests that we honour the Guyanese family, both Guyanese born and naturalized by making it a child born to Guyanese parents. In addition, the government should consider adding a house lot to the welcome package for the child. This would be in the child’s name and will help the government’s housing initiative keep pace with the growth of the population.
Sincerely,
Jamil Changlee Chairman
